1. Who we are
PediCheck Pty Ltd (“PediCheck”, “we”, “us”) is a private company incorporated in the Republic of South Africa. Registration number: [to be inserted]. Registered address: Granger Bay Court, 49 Beach Road, Mouille Point, Cape Town, South Africa.

2. What PediCheck is — and is not
PediCheck is a parent-facing digital product. It helps a parent think through a worrying moment with a child, calmly, using structured questions and paediatrician-written pathways. It is intended for information, education, and decision support.
PediCheck is not a medical device. It is not registered with the South African Health Products Regulatory Authority (SAHPRA) as a medical device. It is not software as a medical device. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, mitigate, or prevent any disease or medical condition, and it is not intended to monitor vital physiological processes.
PediCheck is not:
- a diagnosis, prescription, or treatment plan;
- an emergency service, ambulance dispatch, or triage hotline;
- a substitute for a consultation with a registered healthcare practitioner;
- a doctor–patient relationship with PediCheck Pty Ltd or, by itself, with Atlantic Children’s Practice.
If you are worried, trust that. Call your paediatrician, call 112 from a cellphone, call 10177 for an ambulance, or go to the nearest emergency unit. In a life-threatening emergency, do not use PediCheck instead of getting urgent care.
3. The services
These terms cover:
- the public website at pedicheck.co.za;
- the waitlist, including the SA Emergency Numbers card and launch emails;
- WhatsApp and email we send you if you asked us to;
- the PediCheck application, when it is made available to waitlist or paying users;
- ACP Priority, if you later buy that optional add-on. ACP Priority is a separate human service described on the site. It is not PediCheck itself and is not a substitute for emergency care.
We may change, pause, or stop any part of the services. Waitlist benefits (including 60 days free at launch and one week of early access) are offered as stated on the site at the time you join, until we change them on reasonable notice.
4. Who may use PediCheck
You must be 18 or older, or a parent or legal guardian using PediCheck for a child in your care. You must be able to enter a contract under South African law.
You may not use PediCheck if you are a child acting without a parent or guardian, or if you are using it to provide clinical care to patients as a substitute for your own professional judgement (it is not a clinical decision-support device).
5. Waitlist
Joining the waitlist is optional. You give us your name, email, WhatsApp number, and a child’s age range so we can save your spot, send the emergency numbers card, and send launch updates. You agree to our Privacy Policy and POPIA Policy.
Joining the waitlist does not guarantee a launch date, a price, or that the app will include every feature described in marketing copy. You may unsubscribe from emails at any time.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- misuse the services, probe them for vulnerabilities, or attempt unauthorised access;
- submit false information, or information about a child you are not entitled to represent;
- scrape, copy, or resell PediCheck content except as allowed by law;
- use PediCheck in a way that would treat it as a diagnostic instrument or medical device;
- harass staff or other users, or send unlawful content.
We may suspend access if you breach these terms or if we must do so to protect a child, a parent, or the service.
7. Intellectual property
PediCheck, the wordmark, the mark, the pathways, the website, and related materials are owned by PediCheck Pty Ltd or used under licence. You receive a limited, revocable, non-exclusive right to use the services for your household. You do not get ownership of any content or software.
8. No medical advice; limitation of liability
Pathways are written by paediatricians and reviewed for clinical sense. That does not make an output a diagnosis. You remain responsible for deciding whether to seek care.
To the fullest extent permitted by the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 and other South African law, PediCheck Pty Ltd is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for a decision you make or delay after using PediCheck. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded, including for gross negligence or death or personal injury caused by our negligence where the law does not allow that exclusion.
The website and waitlist are provided as they are. We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free availability.
9. Third parties
The site may link to Instagram, emergency-number operators, or other sites. Those services have their own terms. Hosting, email, and similar operators process information as described in our Privacy Policy.
10. Privacy
We process personal information under POPIA. See the Privacy Policy, POPIA Policy, and PAIA Manual.
11. Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top will change. Continued use after an update is acceptance of the new terms, except where the law requires a fresh consent.
12. Law and disputes
South African law governs these terms. The courts of South Africa have jurisdiction, without limiting any right you have as a consumer to use another competent forum.
